2007 Legends Award After 23 years as one of America's premier stage races, the "Legends" award was established in 2007 to honor a past RBC athlete who has embodied enduring class, sportsmanship, and character throughout their careers, both on and off the bike. This individual represents all the best attributes of a professional cyclist and contributes to the sport in a positive way. Our first recipient, Thurlow Rogers, was also the first winner of the RBC back in 1985. Thurlow, 6th in the 1984 Olympic road race, still competes at the Pro 1-2 level after 25 years in the pro peloton, and has demonstrated both character and class in his years on the bike. We are proud to make Thurlow an RBC "Legend". Carole King Memorial Sportsmanship Award2007 Award Winner - Tina PicFormer Award Winners

Established in 2000, the award honors the memory of Carole King, a founding member of the Redlands Bicycle Classic organizing committee. She and her family have not only been very active members of the Redlands community but have also been instrumental in the launching of many other local events. Volunteering and community involvement were two of her strongest beliefs. In her local newspaper column she encouraged the readers to get involved and recognized those who did. As a non-profit organization, the Redlands Bicycle Classic operates under the same principles and relies on hundreds of volunteers each year. The committee presents this award to the person who best exemplifies the principle of sportsmanship in cycling and athletic competition. These are the people who inspire the committee to continue producing America's premier bicycle race, the Redlands Bicycle Classic.
