Volunteers Make the Classic Happen!
Working as race marshals, assistant judges, and many other jobs, more than 600 residents from Redlands and neighboring communities have volunteered their time and energy to make each race an overwhelming success. With a major sporting event with national stature and prestige, it is unusual to find an all-volunteer organization that includes the nonprofit corporate board. Volunteers are needed to fill the following positions.

Awards Presenters

Assistant Judges
The Redlands Bicycle Classic Assistant Judges work directly with the Race Officials, providing valuable backup scoring, and assisting with other Official Related Duties (see attachment below). We are the only team like it in the world and are well-respected in the Cycling community. We also have the best view of the race and access to areas that most people never get to see. Must be at least 16 years old.
Host Families
House some or all of the members of a race team. Hosts provide sleeping space, use of a bathroom, and refrigerator space. Providing food is not required but a host family may offer to share meals or give the riders full use of the kitchen. Contact

Neutral Support
These volunteers provide a one-on-one direct contact for the team with the race organizers and deliver race results, assist with neutral feed, and perform other team/event support activities
Race Marshals
Marshals are responsible for keeping autos off the course when bicyclists are in the vicinity, for pedestrian control and for assisting residents in reaching their destinations. Race Marshal training is provided by Redlands Bicycle Classic and law enforcement personnel. Race Marshals receive a Race Marshal T-shirt. Shifts of 1-1/2 to 4 hours are available. E-mail
