2026 Redlands Bicycle Classic Junior Race FAQ’s
How many days will we race?
The number of days differs based on the age and gender
  • 9–12-year-olds: 3 days of racing (Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday).
  • 13–18-year-olds: 5 days of racing, starting with a time trial on Wednesday and continuing through the weekend.
  • Women (Cat 3-5): 5 days of racing, also beginning with the Wednesday time trial and running through Sunday.

What should I know about the time trial?
When is the time trial and what equipment rules apply?
The time trial takes place on Wednesday and is the first race day for the 9–18-year-old juniors and the women.
This event is road bikes only for juniors; no time trial bikes, clip-on aero bars, disc wheels, or other specialized time trial equipment are allowed, following the event’s published “road bikes only” guidelines for the time trial. Women can ride time trial bikes.

Do kids race on the same courses as the pros?
Will my child experience the same courses as professional riders?
Yes. Juniors and women race on parallel courses that follow many of the same routes and locations used by the professional fields.
Your child will start and finish in the same areas as the pros and experience the same crowds, race infrastructure, and finish-line atmosphere.

What is available in the Expo area?
Is there an Expo, and is it family-friendly?
Yes. The event includes an Expo area near the main start/finish where you will find cycling-related vendors, community groups, food options, and sponsor booths.
It is designed as a family-friendly space where parents and siblings can relax, grab something to eat, check results, and watch parts of the racing.

What is the Saturday fondo, and can parents join?
Is there something for parents to ride?
Yes. On Saturday there is a fondo-style ride that uses sections of the classic Redlands courses.
It is open to parents, supporters, and riders who want a challenging but non-competitive ride scheduled so you can still watch your child race. It is perfect for the 9-12 year old riders on saturday.

What is the free junior banquet at the Burrage Mansion?
Is there a special event for junior riders on Saturday night?
Yes. On Saturday evening there is a free junior banquet at the Burrage Mansion for all registered junior riders.
The banquet includes dinner, guest speakers, and time for teams and families to celebrate together in a beautiful, historic Redlands venue.
